Word office Privacy Policy
Lin Office Tools ("we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy applies to the Word office mobile application (package name: com.lin.word.office.document.editor, the "App") and related services.
The App provides local document viewing, editing, importing, management, PDF tools, template downloads, feedback submission, file format conversion, optional Google account sign-in, and advertising-supported features for Word, Excel, PPT, PDF, TXT, image, and related document files. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully before using the App.
1. Information We Collect and Use
We collect and use information only for legitimate, proper, necessary, and disclosed purposes related to the App's functions.
1.1 Local Document Import, Viewing, Editing, and Management
When you use file import, system file browsing, document lists, document editing, download, sharing, copy, rename, history, TXT editing, PDF reading, or PDF processing tools, the App may read or generate the following information on your device:
- Documents, images, PDFs, TXT files, and other files that you choose or import;
- File name, file type, file size, modification time, file URI, or local path;
- Drafts, version history, exported files, signatures, watermarks, encrypted PDFs, decrypted PDFs, and other output files created by your actions.
This information is mainly stored on your device or in the App's local workspace. It is used to open, edit, save, export, and manage documents. We do not upload local document content to our servers unless you actively use an online feature that requires upload, such as online format conversion or feedback submission with attached details.
1.2 File Scanning and All Files Access
To help you find and import Word, Excel, PPT, PDF, TXT, and similar document files on your device, the App may request Android's All Files Access permission (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE). After authorization, the App may use system media storage or file access capabilities to read file names, sizes, modification times, and file URIs from shared storage and display matching files for your selection.
You may deny or revoke this permission. If you deny or revoke it, system file scanning, quick import, and some document management features may not work properly, but other features that do not depend on this permission may still be available.
1.3 Guest Identity, Google Sign-In, Templates, Feedback, and Online Services
To provide account authentication, template downloads, feedback submission, and online format conversion, the App communicates with our server at https://api.linofficetools.com and may process the following information:
| Scenario | Information Collected or Used | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Guest identity | Installation ID generated by the App, channel ("android"), device manufacturer and model, user ID, guest account, and access token returned by the server | Identify the same installation, secure API access, and support feedback and conversion tasks |
| Google account sign-in | Google and Firebase account identifier, Firebase ID token, and, depending on your Google account and authentication configuration, email address, display name, or profile image, together with the App installation ID, channel, and device model | Authenticate your identity, connect or upgrade a guest session, create or access your App account, maintain sign-in status, and secure API access |
| Template download | Template category, page number, template ID, download request information, and template file | Display and download document templates |
| Feedback | Feedback type, title, content, optional contact information you provide, device information, user ID, and submission time | Investigate issues, respond to feedback, improve the App, and prevent repeated submissions in a short period |
| Online format conversion | Source file content that you choose to upload, file name, MIME type, target format, conversion task ID, task status, result URL, result file size, and completion time | Convert files such as PDF, Word, Excel, PPT, TXT, and images, then return the converted result to you |
Please note: online format conversion requires uploading the source file you select. The file may contain personal or sensitive information. Please review the file before uploading it. If you do not want to upload a file, you may choose not to use online conversion; local editing and some local PDF tools may still be used.
1.4 App Operation, Crash, and Analytics Information
To understand app stability, fix crashes, and improve user experience, the App integrates Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. These SDKs may automatically collect:
- App version, package name, app instance identifier, session information, and feature usage information;
- Device model, operating system version, language, network type, and other device or app metadata;
- Crash stack traces, app state at the time of crash, Crashlytics installation UUID, and basic diagnostic information before a crash.
We use this information for aggregated statistics, troubleshooting, performance improvement, and stability improvement. We do not use it to identify your real-world identity.
1.5 Advertising and Consent Information
The App uses Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) to display app open and rewarded advertisements. Depending on your device, region, settings, and consent choices, Google and its advertising partners may process information such as the Android Advertising ID, App Set ID or other device identifiers, IP address, device and operating system information, general location inferred from IP address, advertising interactions, ad impressions, diagnostics, and fraud-prevention signals. This information may be used to deliver, measure, limit, secure, and improve advertisements and, where permitted, to personalize advertising.
The App uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request and record privacy choices where required. Your consent status, privacy choices, region-related eligibility signals, and related technical information may be processed to determine whether and how ads may be requested. Refusing personalized advertising does not necessarily stop all ads; non-personalized or limited ads may still be shown where permitted. If the App displays a Privacy Options entry, you may use it to review or change available choices.
1.6 Local Preferences and Cache
The App stores necessary preferences and cache on your device, including language settings, template cache, feedback submission frequency records, guest or authenticated access token, installation ID, advertising consent state, recent documents, and App workspace files. These items help preserve app state, reduce repeated requests, and support faster display or offline availability.
2. Permissions We Request
| Permission | Purpose | Can You Deny or Revoke It? |
|---|---|---|
| INTERNET | Access templates, submit feedback, perform guest or Google/Firebase authentication, request and display ads, obtain privacy choices, upload files for online conversion, download conversion results, and send crash or analytics information | This permission is granted by the system at installation. You may limit related online features by disabling network access. |
| MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (All Files Access) | Scan and import Word, Excel, PPT, PDF, TXT, and similar document files on your device, and support system file browsing and document management | You may grant or revoke it in system settings. If revoked, related file scanning or import features may be unavailable. |
| AD_ID and Android Privacy Sandbox advertising access (including AD_SERVICES_AD_ID, AD_SERVICES_ATTRIBUTION, and AD_SERVICES_TOPICS where supported) | Support advertising, ad measurement and attribution, frequency control, fraud prevention, and privacy-preserving advertising features provided by Google Mobile Ads | Availability depends on your Android version and device settings. You may reset or delete the Advertising ID and manage supported advertising privacy settings in Android settings. You may also manage available consent choices through the App's Privacy Options entry where shown. |
Based on the current application manifest, the App does not actively request camera, microphone, contacts, SMS, call log, or precise location permissions. If future versions add such permissions, we will explain them in an updated policy and obtain authorization where required by law.
3. Third-Party SDKs and Services
To provide App functions, we may use the following third-party SDKs, open-source libraries, or services. Their actual data processing depends on enabled features, configuration, and their own privacy policies.

4. How We Share, Transfer, or Disclose Information
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with companies, organizations, or individuals except in the following cases:
- To service providers as necessary to provide the functions described in this policy, such as cloud conversion, template services, feedback APIs, Google sign-in and Firebase authentication, Firebase crash or analytics services, and Google advertising and consent services;
- With your explicit consent or at your active direction;
- To comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal proceedings, or lawful requests from government authorities;
- When reasonably necessary to protect the life, property, safety, or legal rights of you, us, other users, or the public.
If personal information is transferred due to merger, division, acquisition, asset transfer, bankruptcy, or liquidation, we will require the new holder to continue to follow this policy. Otherwise, we will require the new holder to obtain your authorization again.
5. Retention and International Processing
We retain personal information only for the shortest period necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law. After the retention period ends, we will delete, anonymize, or otherwise reasonably process the information.
The servers and third-party services used by the App may process data in different countries or regions. For international transfer or overseas processing related to Google sign-in, Firebase authentication, analytics or crash reporting, Google advertising and consent services, cloud conversion, templates, or feedback services, we will take necessary security measures as required by applicable law and limit the type and scope of transferred data as much as reasonably possible.
Documents, cache, preferences, and App workspace files stored locally on your device are generally removed when you delete them, clear App data, or uninstall the App. Files exported to the system Downloads folder or shared with other apps are managed by you.
6. How We Protect Your Information
We use security measures appropriate to the services we provide, including HTTPS transmission, access controls, least-privilege authorization, API authentication, logs, and exception monitoring. Guest and authenticated access tokens and similar credentials are stored in the App's private storage.
Please understand that no Internet transmission or electronic storage method is completely secure. You should carefully handle documents containing identity documents, financial information, medical information, contracts, trade secrets, or other sensitive content, and protect your device, system account, and App data.
If a personal information security incident occurs, we will take remedial measures as required by applicable law and notify you by in-app notice, email, public announcement, or other reasonable means, including the basic facts, possible impact, measures taken or to be taken, and suggested steps you may take.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, withdraw consent, cancel, or complain about the processing of your personal information. You may manage your information and permissions in the following ways:
- Revoke All Files Access in system settings;
- Delete documents, exported files, cache files, or clear App data;
- Avoid using online format conversion if you do not want to upload document content;
- Use the App's Privacy Options entry, where displayed, to review or change available advertising consent choices, and use Android advertising privacy settings to reset or delete the Advertising ID or manage supported advertising features;
- Choose whether to sign in with Google. You may sign out in the App at any time; signing out ends the local authenticated session but does not itself delete server-side account records;
- Use the in-app account deletion option while signed in to submit an account deletion request. A request may remain pending while it is reviewed and processed. We will delete or anonymize associated personal information after verification and processing, except information that must be retained for security, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, or legal compliance;
- Choose not to provide contact information in feedback, or contact us by email to request deletion of submitted feedback information;
- Contact us at Izj189697@gmail.com to request access, correction, deletion, or to submit a privacy complaint.
To protect security, we may verify your identity before handling your request. In general, we will respond within 15 business days after receiving and verifying your request, unless the request is complex or the law provides otherwise.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. Minors should read this policy and use the App under the guidance and consent of a parent or legal guardian.
We do not knowingly use personal information from children under 13 for personalized advertising. Parents or guardians should manage the child's device, Google account, advertising settings, and consent choices as appropriate.
If we discover that we have collected a minor's personal information without appropriate guardian consent, we will delete the relevant information as soon as reasonably possible. Guardians may contact us using the contact information in this policy.
9. Updates to This Policy
We may update this policy due to changes in product features, laws, regulations, or operations. After an update, we will publish the updated version in the App, on a webpage, or in another appropriate location. For material changes, we will provide a more prominent notice. We will not reduce your rights under this policy without your consent where consent is required by law.
10. Scope and Third-Party Links
This policy applies only to Word office and related services provided by Lin Office Tools. The App may contain third-party websites, services, or download links. When you access or use third-party services, their terms and privacy policies apply. We recommend that you read those policies carefully.
